UPDATE: Collision investigation underway as man suffers cardiac arrest after head-on crash
A Chippenham road has been closed in both directions following a road traffic collision.
Emergency services are currently attending the smash in Hungderdown Lane, having been called to the scene at around 11am this morning (18 May).
The vehicles are understood to have collided head-on outside Ladyfield Church, near Ladyfield Road.
Two fire crews, from Chippenham and Calne, are working to free the driver of a red Volkswagen who is medically trapped.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked and landed near the scene at around 11.40am.
The occupants of the other vehicle involved, a black Ford Fiesta, are believed to be uninjured.
The main route is closed in both directions.
