A child was pronounced dead at the scene of a serious medical incident last night.

Two air ambulance teams, two ambulances and three ambulance rapid response vehicles were all in attendance in Gorse Hill, Swindon, at around 10.30pm on Sunday (21 February).

Wiltshire Police were also in attendance, cordoning off Whiteman Street, off Cricklade Road, whilst emergency services worked at the incident.

Despite medics’ best efforts to revive the casualty, the boy – whose exact age is unknown – was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The force confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Cricklade Road was partially blocked, and Whiteman Street was cordoned off, for at least two hours.
