A busy road near Melksham is closed after a car flipped onto its roof in a crash.
Emergency services were called to the B3353 Corsham Road at Whitley shortly after 4pm following a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.
The incident saw a blue Ford Fiesta and a white Volkswagen Polo collided – with the Ford overturning on impact. The Volkswagen sustained offside rear damage.
The driver of the Ford was helped out of the car and taken into an ambulance for assessment. Their injuries aren’t believed to be serious.
Police shut the road in both directions between Top Lane and Middle Lane.
Recovery of the cars is currently underway, with the road likely to be open by around 6.30pm.
It’s not clear what caused the collision, or if any action is being taken against either driver.
UPDATE 6PM: Police have opened one lane past the scene – with officers directing motorists. There are delays on the approach.
