A major fire in the gardens of properties on Cricklade Road has closed the main route in both directions this afternoon.
Six fire crews from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea, Chippenham and Cirencester are battling the fire which is thought to have started in a caravan but has since spread across gardens.
Firefighters at the scene say the smoke may contain asbestos. Local residents have been asked to close their windows and doors and avoid breathing in the smoke.
