A 10-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a crash on a main road in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Drakes Way, near the junction with Ocotal Way, on Monday (1 November).
Police say the youngster was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa at around 4.30pm.
The road was partially closed for several hours whilst police and the ambulance service worked at the scene.
Passing Swindon resident, Zoe Bentley, said she stopped to give the casualty a blanket after witnessing him ‘cold in the road’.
“A young lad got hit by a car. I was passing and could not just keep driving without leaving him a blanket so he wasn’t so cold”, she commented.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said the force is asking anyone who witnessed the serious road traffic collision to come forward.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a serious road traffic collision on Drakes Way in Swindon on Monday evening (01/11) to contact us.
“During the incident, which took place at about 4.30pm, a 10-year-old boy received serious, but thankfully not life threatening injuries after being struck by a Vauxhall Corsa as he crossed the road.
“The driver stopped at the scene and no arrests were made.
