WEST COUNTRY – A driver has smashed their car through a phone box and into a building.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Long Cross in Henbury, Bristol, at around 5am on Easter Sunday (31 March).
A black BMW left the road, narrowly missing a bus shelter and lamppost, before careering uphill through a phone box, a garden and into a block of flats.
Among the belongings scattered across the garden was a baby’s car seat – thought to have been removed from the wrecked vehicle during the incident.
The driver, believed to be a woman, was checked over by paramedics in the back of an ambulance – but miraculously didn’t sustain any injuries.
It’s understood an assessment of the building was carried out, and there were no structural concerns and residents remained in their homes.
The electricity company were also tasked due to a damaged electric box, which was made safe.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation; Avon and Somerset Police has been approached for comment.
