At least two people have been stabbed in an attack on a busy Swindon route.
Police officers and ambulance crews responded to multiple 999 calls reporting a disorder involving blades on Moredon Road at around 1.30pm today (Sunday).
It’s understood two people have since attended the Great Western Hospital with knife wounds – and officers believe another unknown person may have sustained injuries.
The suspects involved are believed to have fled the area into Pembroke Gardens and across the nearby playing fields towards Abbey View Road.
A crime scene is in place around a stretch of pavement outside four houses – with detectives from Swindon CID in attendance as officers guard the area.
Earlier reports suggested ten police units were at the incident, including a dog unit and armed officers.
It’s not yet clear how serious the victims’ injuries are, or if any suspects have yet been arrested.
Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy said: “It’s important that we hear from anyone who was in the Moredon Road area at about 1.30pm today.
“We are also asking anyone with a dash cam or doorbell camera to please get in touch.
“Members of the public will notice an increased police presence in the area in response to this ongoing incident.
“If you know who might be responsible, I would urge you not to approach them but to call us immediately.”
