An air ambulance was tasked after a missing person was found in a field near Devizes.

Emergency services raced to the scene near the Kennet and Avon Canal, south of Pewsey Road in Horton, at 2.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday).

According to a local resident, around five police vehicles were in attendance alongside ambulances and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman did not confirm the condition of the casualty, but said that the response related to a “missing person who has now been found”.

Adding: “We’d like to thank the member of the public who called in and supported with our search.

It’s believed the person was found to be in need to urgent medical care and taken to hospital.
