Emergency services were called to a serious crash at a motocross circuit on Sunday (1 October).
Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s critical care medics were among the 999 crews attending the road traffic collision at Foxhill Track, near Swindon, at around 3.30pm.
A motorbike rider sustained significant injuries and was taken the the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance.
Before they could be taken to hospital, specialist technical rescue firefighters – supported by a crew – from Stratton Fire Station provided assistance in gaining access to the casualty.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said that they “used a stretcher to carry the casualty from a muddy track to the ambulance”.
Further details about the incident, or the rider’s injuries, are unknown.
