Two brothers have been charged with multiple shoplifting offences following arrests in Cirencester.
Gloucestershire Police said officers from the town’s Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested the two men following alleged offences over the past couple of days.
The brothers, who are both from Cirencester, were taken into custody on suspicion of multiple shoplifting offences and a breach of a criminal behaviour order.
Police said both men have since been charged with all offences and released on strict bail conditions.
They are due to appear at court on 5 November.
Officers said the arrests followed work between the neighbourhood policing team and the Cirencester Safe scheme, which aims to tackle shoplifting through information sharing between businesses and police.
Retailers in Cirencester who are interested in joining the scheme have been asked to visit the reception at Cirencester Police Station for further information.
