The Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter is still grounded after four weeks.
The Bell 429 GlobalRanger aircraft was taken offline at Thruxton Airfield on 3 October for its annual service – which was expected to last up to three weeks.
Today (Wednesday 2 November), the life-saving machine remained out of action.
But earlier Wiltshire Air Ambulance posted a photograph of the helicopter’s green nose flying towards a storm, but it’s understood it was taken on a previous occasion.
The post prompted ‘stay safe’ comments from supporters – some of whom told Wiltshire 999s that they believed the photograph to have been taken today, as stormy weather approached the county.
In October, when the helicopter was taken offline, the charity said that its medics are still responding to emergency calls in two rapid response vehicles (RRV) – and it can call upon neighbouring air ambulances for further support as required.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was approached for comment.
