An air ambulance has landed after two cars were involved in a crash on the A303 in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision at around 2pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
The major A-road is blocked in both directions between the A36 (Wylye) and the A350 south of Warminster following the incident in the Chicklade area.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was among the 999 crews responding to the smash. Though it’s not yet clear if anyone’s been seriously injured.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is advising motorists to avoid the route due to “severe congestion”.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that two vehicles are involved and the road is closed both ways.
A spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with a road collision on the A303 at Chicklade involving two vehicles. The road is completely blocked as a result of the collision.
“Highways England are currently in attendance dealing with road closures. Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route.”
