An air ambulance was scrambled after a boy collapsed at a school sports day.
Emergency services raced to St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon at around midday on Wednesday (2 July) following reports of an unresponsive child.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance landed on the playing field as ambulance crews and police attended the serious incident.
The charity’s critical care medics provided urgent treatment on scene alongside 999 crews.
It’s understood the boy was stabilised and taken to hospital by land ambulance for further care.
In a message to parents, a spokesperson for St Laurence School wrote: “Just to let you know that we have had a medical incident on the sports field today for a student.
“The air ambulance is in attendance and the students parents are also here with their child.
“All other children are safe and well and being looked after by staff. Children will be released as normal at 3pm.”
Wiltshire Police confirmed that officers were called to the scene to assist the ambulance service with a medical incident involving a child.
