The A420 has reopened following a serious collision investigation near Watchfield.
All three emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene at around 9pm following reports of a two vehicles crash – with one man suffering serious injuries.
It happened at the junction with the B4508 which leads to and from Highworth.
Local residents, living in the vicinity of the incident, raced to the scene to provide first aid and support before the emergency services arrived at the scene – some of which were severely delayed by a M&S-branded arctic lorry which became stuck attempting to U-turn in the road.

Thames Valley Police said: “This is a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A420 near to Watchfield, which has resulted in one man being seriously injured. He remains in the John Radcliffe Hospital at this time in a stable condition.
“Two other people suffered less serious injuries.”
The main route between Swindon and Faringdon was closed for around twelve hours – reopening at 9am today – while a collision investigation was undertaken and the vehicles were recovered.
