The A4 is blocked after a car overturned in a dramatic crash near Box.
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision in Box Road, close to Bathford, at around 8.15pm this evening (Sunday).
A black Mercedes A-class flipped onto its roof on a bend, coming to rest partly on the pavement and partly in the carriageway.
Paramedics attended the scene and checked over a young male driver, who miraculously suffered only minor wounds in the collision.
He was released into the care of his family at about 9pm – and didn’t require any emergency medical treatment.
The driver told police that he swerved to avoid a vehicle oncoming on the wrong side of the road.
As the incident happened about a mile from the Wiltshire border, Avon and Somerset Police managed the incident.
The road was closed in both directions until around 9.30pm, when traffic was directed past the wreckage by officers ahead of recovery.
