Emergency services are currently attending a road traffic collision on the A345.
A classic car has overturned onto its roof in a crash in Oare at around 12.30pm this afternoon (2 September).
The driver was only trapped in the vehicle for a short time before being pulled to safety by members of the public who witnessed the incident unfold.
Wiltshire Police says the road is closed between Rudge Lane and Sunnyhill Lane whilst 999 crews work at the scene.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked to the crash by was stood down en route due to the driver’s injuries not being as serious as first thought.
A force spokesperson said: “We responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision at about 12.30pm today (02/09) on the A345 at Oare.
The vehicle came to rest on its roof and the male driver was briefly trapped before being helped free by members of the public who came to his aid.
He was injured in the incident although these injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.
Fire and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were initially called but subsequently stood down.
Drivers are advised to avoid the A345 at Oare as road closures are currently in place (1.30pm).”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Devizes and Marlborough.

The road has since reopened in both directions – there are no delays in the area.
