A Corsham woman says she is at breaking point after her front garden was allegedly vandalised by schoolchildren – for the fifth time in under a year.
Lyn Elliott, who lives on Hatton Way, claims that pupils from The Corsham School have repeatedly destroyed her garden hedge while walking past her home.
In the latest incident today (Wednesday), she says three bushes were stamped flat – just hours after she replaced two others that had recently been damaged.
“It is very distressing and disturbing that some of your children can cause this damage and just walk away from it,” she wrote online.
“This is the fifth time this has happened to my front garden hedge in less than a year.
“I am extremely upset, my mental health has taken yet another dive. The last two bushes broken down have only just been replaced today from a recent episode.”
She described how one young boy previously admitted to causing damage and offered an apology – something she appreciated.
However, the repeated incidents have left her feeling targeted and emotionally drained.
“I can’t take any more!” she said. “It’s not funny. It’s not clever. It’s not a joke.
“It is vandalism – and now I believe we are being targeted because we have complained.”
Ms Elliott has appealed to parents of Corsham Academy students to speak to their children about respecting people’s property on their route to and from school.
