Families are invited to step into Spring at Lydiard Park this Easter with a programme filled with adventure, creativity and delicious food.

The ever-popular Easter Trail returns this April. Set within the Grade II listed grounds of Lydiard Park, the trail promises an unforgettable experience for children and adults alike.

It will take families on an exciting journey around the lake, searching for clues about the surprising wildlife that call Lydiard Park home. Children who complete the trail will be rewarded with a prize.

Families can get involved on Easter Sunday (20 April) between 11am and 3pm (last admission 2.15pm). The trail can be collected from the Coach House Activity Centre and costs £5 per child. The activity is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the trail, families can get creative at Lydiard House Museum’s Growing Sunflowers sessions on Thursday, 10 and 17 April. Little artists can decorate their own plant pot before sowing a sunflower seed to take home with them.

The family activities will take place in the Main Hall of Lydiard House and are included with museum admission. Admission costs £6.70 for an adult and £3.65 for a child (under threes go free). Family tickets are also available.

For those looking to indulge their taste buds, Lydiard Park Hotel invites park visitors to enjoy a traditional roast dinner. Enjoy a feast of delicious flavours and comforting classics, served with all the trimmings.

Guests can book a table at the Palm Bar and Restaurant for Sunday Lunch on 20 April by calling 01793 464644 or by emailing [email protected].

Councillor Marina Strinkovsky, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Placemaking and Planning, said: “It’s great that there is so much happening at Lydiard this Spring, from the long-running Easter Trail to activities for the whole family and a traditional roast dinner – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

“The team at the park, from the hotel to the cafes, do an amazing job providing events throughout the year and there will be more to come so please keep an eye out.”

The Forest Café and Coach House Tea Rooms will be open throughout the Easter holidays, serving a delicious selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks and light lunches.
