A pregnant woman from Salisbury armed herself with two weapons ‘after being stabbed in an attack’.

Lacey George, 28, was stopped in Rawlence Road by PC Waterfield on 21 September as she attempted to take matters into her own hands in retaliation to being assaulted with a knife.

Prosecutor Ryan Seneviratne told Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 19 December that the officer located pepper spray, a catapult and some rocks in her possession.

The defendant, of Glyndebourne Close, Bemerton Heath, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and possession of an offensive weapon.

The court heard that she previously committed four assaults during a suspended sentence order in 2018 and was subsequently jailed.

Nick Redhead, defending, said his client is a single mother of three children and is currently pregnant.

He told of how she has started a relationship with the brother of her previous partner – after he was jailed. This has since caused tensions within the family to rise.

Mr Redhead said that an associate of the family caused George a small injury with a knife. She went to sort matters out, taking the weapons with her “in case of any difficulties”.

He said the incident was “provoked by herself being the victim of an attack with a blade“.

Magistrates imposed an 18-month community order including the requirement to complete 25 rehabilitation days. She must also pay £40 costs and a £114 surcharge.
