A driver could face prosecution after flipping his lorry on a Wiltshire route.
Emergency services were called to the A342 at Charlton St Peter, near Upavon, at around 11.30am on Monday (9 February).
A tipper lorry left the carriageway to is nearside, before coming returning to the road and coming to rest on its side.
In a stroke of luck, no other vehicles were hit or crushed by the overturning vehicle – and the driver was uninjured.
An ambulance was sent to the scene following the initial 999 call, but was not required. Police closed the road while recovery was arranged.
Officers are now investigating how the lorry came to overturn and considering potential offences, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed.
The force said that no arrests were made at the scene, and no one was injured.
The road – between Wilsford and Rushall – was closed for around six hours, reopening at 5pm.
