Two air ambulances were scrambled after the man, aged in his 60s, was knocked down by a HGV on the A4 Bath Road on Thursday morning (4 December).

Emergency services were called to the fatal incident just outside Marlborough at 10.40am, with the casualty pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A forensic collision investigation got underway, resulting in the road being closed in both directions near Golding Avenue for many hours. By 9pm the road had reopened.
