A multi-vehicle crash on a busy Chippenham roundabout is causing traffic chaos.
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision on Bridge Centre Roundabout at around 1pm this afternoon (Friday).
Two fire crews, ambulances and police were sent to the incident – which involved a number of vehicles, including a black Audi and a black Citroen.
The crash has partially blocked the major junction, causing significant delays for motorists in the area.
Roads joining the roundabout have slow-moving traffic, including Bath Road, Lowden and Avenue La Fleche and Gladstone Road.
At 3pm, the road remained partially blocked and there continued to be delays. While motorists can pass the incident, it’s not likely to be clear until around 4pm.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are currently in attendance at a multi vehicle collision on the Bridge Centre roundabout in Bath Road, Chippenham.
“The incident happened at 1pm and involves four vehicles. Our colleagues from the ambulance service are also in attendance.
“We know this is a busy roundabout especially at school pick up time.
“Please, if possible, avoid the area whilst the incident is dealt with as it is likely to cause delays. Thank you for your patience.”
