A woman has been stabbed with a piece of glass in a restaurant in Salisbury.
Police were called to a “violent altercation” involving two members of staff at the Thai Orchid on Fisherton Street on Thursday evening (13 November).
When officers arrived at around 10pm, a woman – aged in her 50s – was found to have sustained serious injuries in the incident.
She was rushed to hospital with with a stab wound, inflicted with a piece of glass.
Wiltshire Police said the victim is in a serious but stable condition, and her wounds are not being described as life-threatening.
A woman, aged in her 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and is currently in custody at Melksham for questioning.
Detective Inspector Eirin Martin, South CID, said: “This was a serious incident in which a woman was injured inside the restaurant following an argument.
“Officers responded quickly, making an arrest at the scene and securing the area to allow enquiries to take place.
“The cordon remains in place at the restaurant entrance and exit, but Fisherton Street is open as usual.”
