UPDATE: Two men, 32 and 34, found dead at house in Swindon, police say

A residential road in swindon has been closed by police as 999 crews swarm the area.

Emergency services are currently attending a serious incident in Morrison Street, Rodbourne.

Two ambulances, two fire engines and several police cars are in attendance. A Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) was also sent, but were stood down.

An eyewitness told of how they ‘saw someone being dragged out of the house by firefighters’. Adding: ‘They were being pulled by their arms, they didn’t look conscious.’

Another said that firefighters ‘carrying big trauma bags’ ran to the aid of a person on the ground.

Officers have cordoned off the road, adjacent Morris Street and an alleyway to the rear, with motorists and pedestrians unable to pass.

While numerous firefighters were wearing breathing apparatus, there doesn’t appear to be any sign of fire – no smoke, and no hose reel or main jets deployed.

UPDATE 4.20PM: Statements from ambulance and fire

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 14:46hrs on Tuesday 11 November to an incident in Swindon.

“We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, and the hazardous area response team to the scene.”

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 3pm today to assist the ambulance service with an incident at a property on Morrison Street, Rodbourne, Swindon.

“Two appliances are in attendance, from Swindon and Stratton and crews are still on scene assisting our partners.”

UPDATE 4.30PM: New witness account

“I live on Morrison Street and the alleyway is also cordoned and police won’t let us out of our home through the back. We’re also cordoned at the front.

“Earlier when it wasn’t cordoned there were paramedics with a person who was laid down on the floor. Not sure if the person was alive.

“We just saw someone who lives couple houses down the shop coming home with his child and the adult with the child was escorted and had to put a crime scene white suit to get to his house.”

UPDATE 4.50PM: It’s a medical incident, Wiltshire Police say

“We are currently in attendance at an address in Morrison Street Swindon, in support of colleagues from South West Ambulance Service who are responding to a medical incident.

“Members of the public are requested to avoid the area if possible to allow emergency services to attend unhindered. Thank you for your patience.”
