A bomb threat made to Cirencester College has been deemed a hoax by police.
Gloucestershire Constabulary responded to an incident at around 4.15pm today (Wednesday), a students were evacuated to the field and theatre by staff.
While the nature of the threat has not been confirmed by police, Wiltshire 999s has been able to verified with a source that it relates to communication about a bomb being on site.
However, a short investigation carried out by the force led officers to believed that the threat made was false – and is being treated as a hoax.
A post on social media, suggesting a naked man with a knife had gained entry to the college, was false.

Wiltshire Police said that neither were connected, and offenders were identified.

“Officers attended and following extensive enquiries, we now believe that this threat was a hoax.
“We would always urge people to remain vigilant – if you suspect anything suspicious or have any concerns please do report this to police immediately by calling 999.”
