A Swindon woman’s avoided a jail term after assaulting a police officer.
23-year-old Lucy Goodenough, of Cleverton Court, Penhill, appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with one count of assaulting an emergency worker.
She pleaded guilty to attacking the East Swindon neighbourhood police officer Craig Head on 9 January.
On conviction, Goodenough was fined £80.00, told to pay compensation of £100.00 and a victim surcharge of £34.00.
The court made an application for a collection order, to have the amount of £214 deducted from the woman’s benefits unless it is paid within 14 days.
