A young man has been injured after ‘losing control’ of his bike on a Swindon route.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle road traffic collision on Pipers Way at around 12.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday).
The incident involved a white 125CC motorcycle, which was displaying L-plates.
Numerous members of the public stopped to provide first aid. According to a witness who assisted at the scene, the rider lost control and came off his bike at the Nationwide HQ roundabout.
Police confirmed the rider – a young man – sustained a broken collar bone and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
His injuries are serious but not life-changing or life-threatening.
The road was closed between the Nationwide HQ junction and Marlborough Road for around 90 minutes while 999 crews attended.
