A young girl has been hospitalised after being struck down by a van in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Beech Avenue, Pinehurst, at around 1.20pm this afternoon (Friday).
A van hit a ten-year-old girl close to the junction with Northern Road.
She sustained serious, but not life-changing, injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the van driver remained at the scene. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.
The road was closed in both directions for around two hours.
