WEST COUNTRY – A young girl is fighting for her life after a dog attack in Cheltenham.
Emergency services were called to a residential address in the Hatherley area shortly before 6pm on Sunday (14 April).
The youngster, who is described as an infant under the age of two years, sustained serious injuries after being bitten in her own home.
She was taken to hospital for urgent care, and remains in a critical condition at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
The pet dog, which is a large breed, has been seized by police and is at a secure kennel while an investigation into the incident continue.
Gloucestershire Constabulary has refused to confirmed the breed of dog involved, but said it’s not banned.
