A young woman has unexpectedly died after being hit by a car in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Whitbourne Avenue on Thursday evening (22 February).
The casualty, a woman aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle. However, no broken bones were found and she was discharged.
It’s understood that she fell unwell the following day and was rushed into hospital – where she tragically passed away.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) is now “investigating to establish the circumstances around her death”.
They added: “We would ask the public not to speculate about the circumstances of the incident.
