A woman was found unconscious with head injuries in a Swindon street – with a man arrested at the scene.
Emergency services responded to numerous calls from members of the public reporting the incident in Dunsford Close, off Kingshill Road, last night (Sunday, 23 March).
Around seven police vehicles and two ambulances were at the incident at around 9.30pm.
The injured woman was conscious and breathing when 999 crews arrived, but had a visible wound to the back of her head.
Concerned that the injury had been caused by a person – the area was cordoned off to preserve evidence.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. Wiltshire Police say her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was later released without charge.
