A young woman managed to escape after being followed and grabbed by a masked man in Calne.
Police have launched an investigation following the frightening incident in Swaddon Street at around 11.15pm on Tuesday (18 August).
The unknown man is understood to have followed the young woman before grabbing hold of her.
She was fortunately able to get away from the suspect, who was wearing a balaclava and had his hood pulled up.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 3ins to 5ft 5ins tall and of slim build.
He was wearing a grey tracksuit with matching top and bottoms.
Wiltshire Police said the incident is being treated “very seriously” and officers are carrying out enquiries.
