A woman claims she was followed by a man in a car while walking to work in Chippenham.
The incident is said to have happened in Bristol Road at around 6.30am this morning (Sunday).
She said that a man of mixed race, with a black beard and glasses, was driving a grey Mercedes slowly alongside her — pulling onto the curb.
‘He was just repeatedly going up and down Bristol Road, slowing down to drive past me and he pulled up onto the curb next to me twice’, the woman alleged.
Adding: ‘Ladies, I always say be careful if you’re out walking on your own in the dark but please be extra careful at the moment.’
The accusation comes days after a 12-year-old boy was approached by a man in nearby Woodlands Road on Wednesday (29 January).
In that incident, the man was also described as being mixed race and driving a grey Mercedes.
In what police say was a separate case, a 52-year-old man from Chippenham was arrested on suspicion of the attempted kidnap of a 14-year-old girl on Union Road on Thursday (30 January).
It’s not known if the new occurrence was reported to the police, or if it is linked to the previous reports.
