A woman has died after collapsing outside a pharmacy in Highworth.
Emergency services were called to Sheep Street following reports of a casualty in cardiac arrest at around 3pm on Thursday afternoon (30 January).
Members of the public provided first aid ahead of ambulance crews, and the woman – aged in her 60s – was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.
Despite the best efforts of medics, she was pronounced dead later that day. Her family are aware.
Police cordoned off part of Sheep Street as 999 crews dealt with the incident, leading to speculation online – with one person wrongly claiming it was a stabbing.
