A woman has been arrested following a serious collision in Swindon this morning. (25/11)

Officers were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at approximately 8.20am on Akers Way.

The pedestrian – a 14-year-old boy – was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle involved left the scene – enquiries have been ongoing all morning and we have now arrested a woman on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She is currently in custody at Gablecross for questioning.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision – if you were in Akers Way this morning and have information which could help, please call 101 and quote log number 67 of November 25.
