A woman has been arrested after crashing ‘while drunk’ on the M4 in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the motorway near Swindon this afternoon (Tuesday).
A white Hyundai i10 was involved in the incident, sustaining front nearside damage.
The driver, a woman, was breathalysed at the scene and provided officers with a positive sample.
With a reading of 112 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit being 35 microgrammes – she was arrested and taken into custody.
The road was blocked for a short time while the vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder. It is now open and flowing as usual.
