A woman has sustained serious injuries in a crash near Bradford on Avon.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle road traffic collision in Holt Road at around 7pm last night (4 February).

A silver Volkswagen and a silver Vauxhall were involved in the smash, with one of the drivers – a woman in her 30s – suffering serious injuries.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was tasked to the incident, later airlifting the casualty to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews, from Trowbridge and Westbury, to the scene.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the injured casualty from one of the cars before she was rushed to hospital.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 7pm last night (04/02) we were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Holt Road, near Bradford on Avon.

“It involved a silver Volkswagen and a silver Vauxhall, and the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 30s, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital with serious injuries.

“The road reopened at around 10.45pm.”
