A woman has claimed that she called the police over firework debris found on her driveway.
Whilst it has not yet been confirmed whether or not the post in a community Facebook group was genuine or a joke, it has caused outrage with other locals today (Monday).
“Just to let you know it happened late last night someone did firework somewhere in Hampton Park [in Salisbury] and I found one firework debris left on our driveway”, the woman penned.
Adding: “Have reported this to the police and there no action taken because it wasn’t a threat. First time happened! Not impressed.”
The poster appears to have a credible and well-used Facebook profile, with dozens of photographs of herself and others – some dating back about a decade.
In response, one person said: “You should be done for wasting police time.”
Another added: “Did you call them when the wind blew some rubbish into your drive also? Or when the tree down the road dropped a leaf on your car?
“Unless someone stood there and fired a firework at your house, I can’t see what the police would do?”
One man explained that fireworks sent into the skies must return to the ground.
He said: “Fireworks go up so they must come down and it could be anyone within 100m radius of your home depending on the angle of departure the height achieved and possible wind speed at the time.
“It was probably just one that went a different way to others otherwise you’d find a few scattered around.”
On noticing that the photograph also showed a rouge rubber band also on the woman’s driveway, one person added: “If you report the rubber band as well they might escalate it.”
