A Wiltshire teacher sacked over ‘inappropriate conduct’ has been found dead at home.
John Wright was fired from Marlborough College over his behaviour, according to Daily Mail.
The 54-year-old was removed from his role as physics teacher following an exchange trip to Marlborough College Malaysia.
An investigation into what took place on the trip, which saw 29 pupils from the Wiltshire boarding school take part, was carried out.
Following a disciplinary hearing, he was dismissed during the summer. Full details are yet to be revealed officially.
He was found dead by his wife at their home in Cherry Orchard, Marlborough, on 3 November – located just a stone’s throw from Marlborough College.
As previously reported by Wiltshire 999s, emergency services attended the address and a man, aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiltshire Police confirmed they attended a “sudden death” at a property.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and our thoughts are with his family”, a spokesperson added.
An inquest opening at Swindon and Wiltshire Coroner’s Court revealed that Mr Wright died from asphyxiation with compression of the neck structures by a ligature.
A full inquest will take place at a later date.
