Wiltshire Police has thanked volunteers involved in the search for Fiona Edson.
The operation ended when the 51-year-old’s body was tragically found in a field in Stanley – approximately two miles from Monkton Park – on Saturday afternoon (1 July).
More than 100 volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue, and other similar organisations from neighbouring counties, were involved alongside police and the fire service.
The force said that although formal identification has yet to take place, Fiona’s family have been updated regarding this development and are being supported by specialist officers.
Superintendent Liz Coles said: “Search volunteers from organisations such as Wiltshire Search and Rescue play an invaluable role.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who provided that extra support at such short notice. It’s very much appreciated.”
A GoFundMe was set up for Fiona’s family – and has surpassed £1,000. Donate here.
