A Wiltshire man caught with dozens of vile child abuse images could be jailed for his crimes.
Glyndwr Protheroe, 70, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday) after pleading guilty to three counts of making incident images of children.
The defendant, of Quarry Hill, Box, admitted making a total of 174 abhorrent photographs back in December – including five in the most serious category.
He was due to be sentenced for his offending during the hearing but it was deemed too serious – carrying a sentence between one and three years’ custody, way beyond what magistrates’ can impose.
It was sent to Swindon Crown Court, where a judge will decide his punishment. Protheroe was released on unconditional bail and will be sentenced on 24 February.
