A video doorbell caught a man shouting the N-word at a Royal Wootton Bassett bar on Sunday night (4 May).

Wiltshire Police has launched an investigation into the concerning racist incident in High Street, which happened shortly before midnight.

Three men could be seen standing outside Cobbstar Bar, before one appears to knock on the door of the establishment.

The man then shouts: “Any n***ers in here?”, before giggling with the other men and jogging away.

Footage was shared on social media by Cobbstar Bar, which has reportedly led to the identification of the suspect.

It’s not yet known if any arrests have been made in connection with the incidnet.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police confirmed that they are aware of a “video circulating on social media that shows a man shouting abuse at a property on the High Street”.

They also confirmed that the occurence has been reported to the force and it is being taken “very seriously”.

Inspector Scott Anger said, “This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, and we will be investigating the circumstances.
