Firefighters from Corsham have responded to a major fire at a home in Bath.

Emergency crews dashed to the serious blaze at a semi-detached house in Shaws Way, Twerton, at around 6.16pm this evening, Wednesday 24 May.

A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue said: “The service received numerous calls reporting the fire at the two storey, semi-detached house.

“When crews arrived, they found the property well alight.

“Firefighters from Bath, Hicks Gate, Kingswood, Radstock, Temple and Corsham fire stations are using jets and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire which is affecting the ground and first floor, as well as the roof of the house.

“The fire is also believed to be affecting a neighbouring property which has been evacuated.

“The Avon Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support team is also at the scene.”

There are no reports of any injuries and all occupants have been accounted for.
