Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was forced to land amid Storm Claudia – just moments after leaving a life-saving mission.
Dangerous weather conditions temporarily grounded the aircraft in Warminster shortly before 3.30pm this afternoon (Friday).
The pilot was forced to land the helicopter in a field off Portway over storm fears.
Thankfully, they were returning from a mission in the Warminster area – having already provided critical care to a patient there.
One of the medics went in a land ambulance with the casualty, who was rushed to Salisbury District Hospital for further treatment.
While in the field, the crew were approached by children – who were given a tour of the life-saving aircraft.
Other residents came out to snap the helicopter, before the pilot managed to take off and fly back to their Semington airbase safely just after 4pm.
