Air ambulance medics from Wiltshire have raced to help a drowning casualty at a beach.
Emergency services were called to reports of an unresponsive person being pulled from the sea at the South West beauty spot Durdle Door in Dorset.
The incident – which happened at around 2pm on 28 May – saw a significant amount of 999 crews attend the packed beach amid the record heatwave.
HM Coastguard teams cleared the area to allow Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance to land at the scene.
The critical care medics provided the casualty with urgent treatment before airlifting them to Royal Bournemouth Hospital for further care. Their condition is unknown.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were unable to respond, spending around eight hours in a field in Wiltshire. It’s not clear why at this stage.
