A police dog has been praised for finding a man who took an overdose this morning.
A dog unit had been called to Neston, near Corsham, following reports of a patient suffering a severe mental health episode at sometime before 10am.
Police dog Betty was tasked to locate the distressed man, finding him a short time later in what has been described by her handler as “dense undergrowth”.
As first reported by Wiltshire 999s, police swarmed the Moor Green area after the man was reported missing. It was confirmed once found that he was ‘taken to a place of safety’.
“After being tasked to find a suicidal male who had taken an overdose PD Betty did what was asked, locating the male in dense undergrowth, hopefully now he is in receipt of the support he needs”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police Dogs said. Adding: “Well done Boo”.
