Two men have been arrested following a serious assault in central Trowbridge.
Police officers were called to reports of a violent attack in Park Road, near The Albany Palace pub, at around 5.15pm on Friday afternoon (12 May).
A man, aged in his 40s, was rushed to hospital with serious wounds. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Searches were carried out and two men, aged in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm around 7.30pm in the Fore Street area.
During their arrest, one of the men reportedly lashed out at officers. He was subsequently further arrested on suspicion of racially-aggravated public order and assaulting an emergency worker.
Both suspects have seen been bailed; an investigation into events is ongoing.
