Two boys have been arrested after a barn and machinery were destroyed in a blaze.

Emergency services raced to reports of a major fire in High Post, which is located around three miles south of Amesbury, at around 6pm on Saturday (17 May).

A barn – containing farming machinery – was well alight, with numerous fire crews rushing to tackle the flames.

It’s understood a combine harvester and tractor were completely destroyed. Nobody was injured.

The damage is believed to be in the hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed that two 12-year-old boys are in custody, held on suspicion of arson.

A spokesperson added: “We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have recorded dash cam footage or who may have footage of the fire itself or was in the area at the time.

“If you can help please call us on 101 quoting log 54250059960.

“You can also leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
