Two air ambulances have attended a serious crash on A419 near Wiltshire.
Emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision close to Dobbies Garden Centre in Cirencester at around 10.30am today (Wednesday).
The A419 Cirencester Road was closed in both directions while 999 crews raced to the incident on the roundabout for Siddington Park.
Great Western Air Ambulance and Midlands Air Ambulance both landed at the scene, with specialist medics providing urgent trauma care.
It’s understood at least one person sustained significant injuries. Further details about the crash and those involved are unknown at this time.
Gloucestershire Constabulary have launched a full-scale forensic collision investigation. The busy route is expected to remain closed throughout rush-hour and into the evening.
A police spokesperson said: “Road closures are in place on the roundabout between Kingsmeadow and the Duke of Gloucester barracks, between the A429 Bristol Road and A419 Swindon/Cirencester Road and turning from Dobbies Garden Centre onto the A419.
“Closures are expected to remain in place for a number of hours with motorists asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area while emergency services remain at the scene.”
