Traffic at a standstill as police officers round up loose ponies on the A419

Police officers have closed part of the A419 this afternoon, as they work to round up a number of ponies which are loose on the busy Swindon road.

Three Shetland ponies are on the road near to the South Marston junction.

Traffic stopped in both directions #A419 btwn #B4019+ #A361 #Swindon whilst @wiltshirepolice remove loose horses from c/way Will update asap

A spokesperson said: “The traffic is static whilst we contain them and find their owners.”
